    TS GO NO 24 Telangana Model School (TSMS) Education Department Model Schools Guidelines and procedure for admission of students into Model Schools in the State of Telangana Revised Orders Issued.

    1.  In the G.O. 1st read above, Government issued Guidelines and procedure for admission of students into Model Schools in the State of Andhra Pradesh from the Academic Year 2013-14. 
    2.  In the reference 2nd read above, Government have declared the Telangana State Model Schools as Specified Category Schools under Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. 
    3. In the reference 3rd read above, Government have issued modification orders to the G.O. 1st read above, changing the admission pattern in Model Schools in the State of Telangana. 
    4.  In the reference 4th read above, Director of School Education & EOPD, RMSA/Model Schools, Telangana, Hyderabad has requested the Government to increase the intake of seats in Model Schools from Class VI to X for each Class from 80 to 100, hence increasing the total intake of students from 400 to 500 and to increase the intake of seats in Intermediate I & II year from 20 to 40, hence increasing the total intake of students from 80 to 160, to consider the existing 10th class students who have Acquired or Passed SSC Examination from Model Schools in the State for admission into the Intermediate First year in the same Model Schools without referring to the Procedure for Admission stipulated in the 1st read above, so as to enable the Model School students to continue in the same school and also (iv) to withdraw the provision for selection of the Students into Model Schools by the District Level Committee. Instead of the District Committee, he has proposed the system of Centralized admissions etc. 
    5.  After careful examination of the proposal of the Director of School Education and Ex-Officio Project Director, RMSA/Model Schools, Telangana, Hyderabad in the references 4th read above and in supersession of the G.Os. 1st and 3rd read above, Government hereby issue the revised Guidelines and procedure for admission of students into Model Schools in the State of Telangana are as follows:

    2. The admissions for Classes VI to X shall be done by conducting written test and admissions into Junior College Intermediate 1st year shall be based on the marks got in the S.S.C. Examination. 3. The reservations shall be adopted for admission of students into the Model Schools as detailed below after examining the reservations pattern of APREIS, APSWEREIS, APTWREIS and KV/ Navodaya Vidyalaya duly keeping in view the constitutional provision of reservations. 4. Rule of Reservation: i. 15% and 6% seats in each class shall be reserved for candidates belonging to the SCs and STs respectively. ii. 29% of the seats in each class shall be reserved for BCs and shall be allocated among the five groups of BCs as shown below: 
    1.   Group – A: 7% 
    2.   Group – B: 10% 
    3.   Group – C: 1% 
    4.   Group – D: 7% 
    5.   Group – E: 4% 
    iii. Physically Challenged students: 3% (in the reservation group of the students) iv. 33.33% seats shall be reserved for Girls in all categories as indicated in Clause 4
    (vii). v. If sufficient number of candidates of any particular category are not available to fill up the seats reserved for that group, they may be filled up by suitable candidates as indicated in Clause 4(x). vi. 50% seats will be for open category. 
    vii . Each of the Classes VI to X has two sections with an intake of 50 each. While admitting the Students, the Class shall be taken as a unit of 100 Students for Classes VI to X. For Intermediate Class, the unit shall be each group of 40 Students. However, in case of any non-availability of applicants in any particular group, the total strength of 160 can be taken as a unit for the purpose of reservation. The community wise distribution of seats for Classes VI to X is as follows:
