🔍 Key Clarifications Issued by the Government
The government clarified several important points about relinquishing promotion rights:
1️⃣ Prospective Effect
The orders issued in G.O.Ms.No.92 will be applicable only prospectively, not retrospectively.
2️⃣ Promotion Opportunity from 2022–23
Employees who relinquished their promotion rights before or after the G.O. will be considered for promotion again from the panel year 2022–23 onwards, provided they are eligible.
3️⃣ Relinquishment Allowed Only Once
An employee can relinquish promotion only once in a particular panel year.
4️⃣ No Reconsideration in the Same Year
Once relinquishment is given, the employee cannot be considered again for promotion during the same panel year.
5️⃣ No Relinquishment After Joining
If an employee joins the promoted post, they cannot relinquish the promotion afterward.
